Mesenchymal stem cells are an attractive source of cells for regenerative medicine in bone and cartilage defects. These cells have shown the potentiallity of tissue regeneration. Bone marrow has been used as a stem cell source, but it is an invasive and painful procedure. A new method allows harvesting, processing and reinjecting stem cells obtained from adipose tissue. The procedure is simple, safe, and only requires local anesthesia. It must carried out aseptically.
