On January 28, the 1st Meeting on foot surgery in the province of Alicante was held in the Auditorium of the Clínica Vistahermosa.
This group was formed at the request of Dr. Enrique Martinez (Chief of the Foot and Ankle Unit, Hospital General Universitario of Alicante and Vistahermosa Orthopaedic Surgery), and which included all orthopaedic surgeons working in the different hospitals of
the province of Alicante (public and private) and who especially work in Foot and Ankle Surgery.
The meeting discussed various clinical cases whose specific difficulty and complexity required the opinion of the several experts
gathered. It also laid the groundwork for the organization of an Updating Day on Ankle Pathology that will be held on April 22, 2013 at the Clínica Vistahermosa.
This is the first of a series of annual meetings with a quarterly periodicity this group intends to organize. This will improve the
scientific level of foot surgeons in Alicante and have a highly specialized discussion forum where decisions can be made in complex cases. This should lead to better care for our patients presenting problems related to foot and ankle.
