On Friday May 9, in Clinica Vistahermosa’s auditorium, the 3rd  TRAUMA AND REHABILITATION CONFERENCE was held, organized by the Casaverde Foundation (Casaverde Group) and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of the Clinica Vistahermosa. The conference consisted of 2 Round Table discussions.

The first Roundtable, moderated by Dr. Manuel Morales, dealt with the developments in surgical techniques and processes of osteoarthritic foot and ankle, as well as modern arthroscopic techniques in the treatment of sports injuries which affect these joints. Various surgical treatments of hallux valgus and encouraging results of current ankle prosthetic techniques were also discussed.
                                                                                                                                                                                        The second roundtable, moderated by Dr. Antonio Collado, concerned the diagnosis and conservative treatment of various injuries and diseases affecting the foot and ankle from the point of view of rehabilitation, biomechanics, physiotherapy, podiatry and sports medicine. The main topic was plantar fasciitis and its causes explained from a biomechanical point of view as well as new technologies in its treatment.

Drs. Enrique Martinez, Jesus Más, Carmen Verdú, Antonio Agulló, Francisco Monzo and Cesar Cobián, participated as speakers, as part of the Foot and Ankle Unit and the Sports Medicine Unit at Traumavist, presenting the latest developments in this field .

This has been a gathering of Medical Rehabilitators, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physiotherapists, podiatrists and orthopedic technicians working as a team  and fighting against major injuries and diseases affecting foot and ankle, an essential part of our anatomy which allows us to stand, move, run or jump when in good condition and which gives us so much disability and decreased quality of life when damaged .
