Ligament injuries of the knee in children and adolescents are increasingly frequent.
Although traditionally, no action was taken until the end of growth to carry out ligament repair,
the trend today is to do surgery in the weeks following the injury since, in the past, the patient at
the time of surgery had numerous associated injuries due to the delay and also because the patient
couldn't practice sports after the injury . The technique has since been modified, allowing, during
the intervention, to have radiographic control in the areas where bones grow (physis) in order to
avoid injuries during surgery.
