The Hand and Elbow Unit of the Trauma Service at Clínica Vistahermosa is prepared to respond to any problems that may occur in these joints, from injuries resulting from accidents and sports, to those derived from age and degenerative processes, as well as those produced by work accidents.
The members of this Unit have a wide experience in the pathology of the hand and the elbow and after a proper diagnosis, based on advanced imaging techniques, performed at Clínica Vistahermosa (MRI, scanner, etc.), will provide individualized treatment to each patient.
Patients receive the individualized treatment which is best for their problem. Initially they will be treated with conservative means, personalized rehabilitation programs with our physiotherapists, injections of growth factors and so on. Those who need it will undergo surgery with the most advanced techniques: arthroscopy to treat wrist and elbow injuries, with minimally invasive surgery and a quick recovery, to the implant of prosthesis in all those patients with degenerative conditions who require it.
The majority of this surgery is made with locoregional anesthaesic, that makes it possible to intervene as an outpatient. So the patient can return home immediately. We have the technical and human resources enabling us to be at the avant-garde of hand and elbow surgery.
