The Shoulder Unit of the Trauma Service at the Clínica Vistahermosa is prepared to respond to any problems that may occur in this joint, from injuries resulting from accidents and sports, to those derived from age and degenerative processes.
The trauma members of this Unit have a wide experience in the pathology of the shoulder and after a proper diagnosis, based on advanced imaging techniques that are performed at Clínica Vistahermosa (MRI, scanner, etc.), will provide individualized treatment to each patient.
Patients receive the individualized treatment which is best for their problem. Initially, they will be treated with conservative means, personalized rehabilitation programs with our physiotherapists, injections of growth factors and so on. Those who need it will undergo surgery with the most advanced techniques: arthroscopy to treat tendon injuries and techniques to stabilize shoulder luxations.
In those patients with osteoarthritis or tendon fractures, the proper prosthesis will be implanted. Those who suffer from bone fractures may undergo surgery as well in order to stabilize them. After the surgery, we have a team of physiotherapists who will start rehabilitation during the admission to hospital and will continue with it after the patient’s discharge. We have the technical and human resources enabling us to be at the avant-garde of knee surgery.
