The Spine Unit of the Trauma Service at the Clínica Vistahermosa is prepared to respond to all the problems affecting this area. From injuries resulting from accidents and sports, to those derived from age and degenerative processes. Both, problems derived from neurological pathology, and those with a mechanical component are treated.
The Unit consists of orthopaedists, neurosurgeons and physiotherapists who work in team to give a better solution to the patient’s problems. The members of this Unit have extensive experience in the pathology of the spine. After an appropriate diagnosis, based on advanced imaging techniques that are performed at Clinica Vistahermosa (MRI, scanner, digital radiology and so on), they will be able to provide individualized treatment to each patient.
Patients receive the individualized treatment which is best for their problem. Initially they will be treated with conservative means, personalized rehabilitation programs with our physiotherapists, osteopathy, posture reeducation, back school and so on. Other patients will require infiltrations with radiofrequency systems or medication in order to recover.
Finally, those who need it will undergo surgery with the most advanced techniques: from minimally invasive surgery and conservative surgery to those who, due to their pathology, need decompressions or comprehensive stabilization. Patients suffering from fractures may require surgery as well to stabilize them. After the surgery we have a team of physiotherapists who will start rehabilitation during the admission period and will continue after the discharge. Our technical and human resources enable us to be at the avant-garde in spine surgery.
