Radial Head Fractures
Radial Head Fractures resulting from a fall onto the palm of the hand, the impact transmitted to the elbow. The treatment has to be fast and efficient in order to regain full mobility.
Fracture of the humerus bone
The radius and ulna connect to the humerus bone of the upper arm at the elbow joint. The extension type fracture is caused by a fall on the outstreched hand with the elbow hyperextended. The treatment needs to be fast and efficient in order to regain full mobility.
Olecranon Fracture
El olecranon is the “pointy” bone at the tip of the elbow that helps form the articulation with the humerus, allowing elbow flexion-extension.The fracture is the case of a fall with the elbow flexed and the immediate consequence is the inability to move the elbow
Radius & Ulna Fracture
Radius and Ulna fractures are more common in children and are normally produced by a game or sport, in adults as well, in traffic accidents. Treatment is usually:
- Conservative: plaster immobilization.
- Surgical: surgery should be considered only in cases where the fracture can not be stabilized with plaster.
